Credits, when you need them
Credits pay for calls, texts and Mia. Every plan starts with 100. There’s no monthly refill and no auto top-up. Add a pack when you run low.
The yearly plan, in plain numbers
Both plans are the same Premium plan with the same features. Only the billing is different.
| Yearly | Monthly | |
|---|---|---|
| You pay | $99.99 a year | $19.99 a month |
| Over 12 months | $99.99 | $239.88 |
| Works out to | $8.33 a month | $19.99 a month |
| Free trial | 3 days | None, billed today |
| Starter credits | 100, once | 100, once |
Twelve months of the monthly plan is $239.88. The yearly plan is $99.99, so you keep $139.89. That’s where “Save 58%” comes from. Not sure yet? Start yearly and try it on real calls during the 3 free days.
How credits work
Your plan pays for the number and the app. Credits pay for what you use on it: call minutes, texts, Mia’s minutes and extra numbers.
100 to start, once
Subscribing gives you 100 credits one time. There’s no monthly refill, so your plan price doesn’t hide a bundle of minutes you might not use.
Packs when you need them
150 for $4.99, 950 for $19.99 and 4,000 for $59.99. Bigger packs cost less per credit: from about 3.3¢ down to 1.5¢. No auto top-up.
A heads-up before you run low
The low-credit alert fires once when your balance drops under 25, 50 or 100 credits. It’s set to 50 by default, and you can turn it off.
At zero, things pause
Calls, texts and Mia stop until you add credits. Callers hear busy, and you get a notification. Your numbers stay yours, and the app stays fully viewable.
What each thing costs
Missed calls and ring time are always free. Calls are counted from when they connect, and Mia from when she picks up.
| What | Credits | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Calls, in or out | 8 credits a minute | Counted from when the call connects. Missed calls and ring time are free. |
| Mia answering | 48 credits a minute | From when she picks up. Hand the call to yourself any time. |
| Voicemail | 7 credits a minute | Includes the transcript. |
| Call recording | +7 credits a minute | Audio and transcript, on top of the call. |
| AI summary | 1 credit per call | Per started 30 minutes. Turn it off in Settings. |
| Text message | 8 credits sent, 7 received | |
| Picture message | 22 credits sent, 13 received | |
| Extra number | 300 credits a month | Your plan includes one number. |
In dollars, at the 4,000-credit pack rate: a minute you answer yourself is about $0.12, a minute of Mia about $0.72, and a text about $0.12. With smaller packs each credit costs a little more. If a recording can’t be transcribed, it’s charged at 2 credits a minute instead of 7.
What’s free
- Missed calls and ring timeA call that rings and isn’t answered costs nothing. Calls are counted from when they connect, so the ringing is free too.
- Calls that go to voicemailOnly the voicemail minutes left are charged. If nobody leaves a message, it costs nothing.
- The closing-time summaryA push at the end of your day with what happened. On by default, and it respects quiet hours.
- Hearing Mia before customers do“Hear Mia answer a call” starts a test call with her in the app. It uses no credits, so test as often as you like.
- Blocking and spam labelsCalls marked likely spam and numbers you block cost nothing to label or block.
What a month might cost
Three made-up months, worked out with the real rates. Your calls and texts will differ. Each total shows the cheapest mix of packs that covers it, on top of your plan.
Light month
A side business or a part-time owner. You answer most calls yourself and Mia only catches the odd one.
| Calls you answer, 30 minutes in all | 8 × 30 = 240 credits |
|---|---|
| Mia, 4 calls of about 3 minutes | 48 × 12 = 576 credits |
| AI summaries for Mia’s 4 calls | 1 × 4 = 4 credits |
| “What happens next” texts after Mia’s calls | 8 × 4 = 32 credits |
| Texts you send | 8 × 20 = 160 credits |
| Texts you receive | 7 × 20 = 140 credits |
| Total | 1,152 credits |
| Cheapest packs | two 150-credit packs ($4.99 each) and one 950-credit pack ($19.99), $29.97 |
| With your plan | $49.96 on monthly, or $38.30 with yearly at $8.33 a month |
Regular month
A solo tradesperson on jobs most days. Mia answers when you can’t pick up and books the routine work.
| Calls you answer, 120 minutes in all | 8 × 120 = 960 credits |
|---|---|
| Mia, 15 calls of about 3 minutes | 48 × 45 = 2,160 credits |
| AI summaries for Mia’s 15 calls | 1 × 15 = 15 credits |
| “What happens next” texts after Mia’s calls | 8 × 15 = 120 credits |
| Voicemail, 5 minutes | 7 × 5 = 35 credits |

| With your plan | $89.96 on monthly, or $78.30 with yearly at $8.33 a month |
Busy month
A busy season with a small crew. Mia takes a lot of calls while you’re on site, and you record some calls for the paperwork.
| Calls you answer, 300 minutes in all | 8 × 300 = 2,400 credits |
|---|---|
| Mia, 40 calls of about 3 minutes | 48 × 120 = 5,760 credits |
| AI summaries for Mia’s 40 calls | 1 × 40 = 40 credits |
| “What happens next” texts after Mia’s calls | 8 × 40 = 320 credits |
| Recording on 30 minutes of calls | 7 × 30 = 210 credits |
| AI summaries for recorded calls | 1 × 10 = 10 credits |
| Texts you send | 8 × 150 = 1,200 credits |
| Texts you receive | 7 × 150 = 1,050 credits |
| Job photos received | 13 × 15 = 195 credits |
| Total | 11,185 credits |
| Cheapest packs | three 4,000-credit packs ($59.99 each), $179.97 |
| With your plan | $199.96 on monthly, or $188.30 with yearly at $8.33 a month |
Your first month also has your 100 starter credits, which aren’t counted above. Mia is the biggest line in every example: 48 credits a minute against 8 when you answer yourself. To spend less, set her to “when I don’t pick up”, or use Hand to me to take a call she’s on; the rest is billed at 8 credits a minute. Voicemail is 7 credits a minute and texts you receive are 7.
Extra numbers, replacing and parking
Extra numbers: 300 credits a month
Your plan includes one number. Add another line for a second trade or a side gig. The first 300 credits are charged when it turns on, then every 30 days. If your balance can’t cover a renewal, that line pauses and retries daily, and turns back on once paid. A line still unpaid shortly before the next monthly carrier charge is released.
Replacing a number: 300 credits
Want a different area code or a fresh number? Replacing costs 300 credits, charged at the switch. You pick from four nearby numbers, the same way you picked the first.
Parking: $6.99 a month
Taking a break? Park your included number instead of cancelling. It’s paused but stays yours, and it starts when Premium ends. Coming back to Premium turns it on again. Extra numbers keep their 300-credit monthly renewal.
When a plan ends
- 1You keep access to the endCancel in the App Store or Google Play at any time. Everything works until the end of the period you paid for.
- 2Then your numbers pauseWhen Premium ends without a park, every number, included and extra, is paused. No calls or texts go through.
- 3They’re released before the next carrier chargePhone carriers bill each number at the start of the month. Your numbers are released shortly before that charge. The app shows the date: “Plan ended. Released on this date unless you resubscribe.”
- 4Resubscribe or park to keep themResubscribe before the release date and your numbers come back as they were. Or park your included number for $6.99 a month.
Mia or a live answering service?
Live answering services bill a set number of calls or minutes each month. Here’s the same amount of answering with Mia, worked out with our rates. It’s an example; your call lengths will differ.
| Amount of answering | Mia by 2Line.AI | Live service |
|---|---|---|
| 50 minutes a month | 2,400 credits, covered by one 4,000-credit pack ($59.99), plus your plan | Ruby Receptionists: from $250/month for 50 minutes |
| 30 calls a month (about 3 minutes each, with summary and text) | 4,590 credits, covered by one 950-credit pack ($19.99) and one 4,000-credit pack ($59.99), plus your plan | Smith.ai live receptionists: from $300 a month for 30 calls ($11.50 per extra call) |
| Who answers | Mia, an AI receptionist. Hand to me passes calls to you | People |
| Business number | Included, and you call and text customers from the same app | Check each service |
